About Us

This is one of those connections that was orchestrated by God. We met during Covid when so many things went online. Each one of us had been selected to participate in The Book Proposal Bootcamp hosted by Compel Training. We were from all over the U.S. with diverse backgrounds.

Despite the task before us, we were drawn to the people on the screen. One of the women bravely broke the ice when first logging on to the zoom call. Another woman so perfectly articulated her thoughts. The third woman awed us with her ability to strategize and see a project so thoroughly. The fourth was more quiet than the others, but when she spoke, her commitment to Jesus shined in all its glory. The fifth, a natural encourager found herself inspired by these women of God.

In the middle of all the words, we bonded over our stories. It was hard to believe that confident, passionate, radiant women ever struggled with shame, hopelessness, insecurities, doubt, rejection, and discontentment. But we each have an account to share of being kept captive by lies before finding freedom in truth. God’s truths about who He is freed us to flourish in the truths about who He created each of us to be.

Join us. Follow what we’ve learned and are continuing to learn through our individual relationships with God. We hope our stories offer hope for you to become Freed to Flourish.

Susan McAlinden

Susan McAlinden is happily married to her husband and together they have four amazing children. She loves being a mom despite the assorted emotions, injuries, dilemmas, and negotiations that occur on a daily basis. She and her husband navigated a move overseas and that’s when Susan learned that she prefers ice in her beverages, chocolate that’s dark, and that saying, “goodbye” to friends is the hardest part of moving.

As a young adult, Susan struggled to find fulfillment even though she had a wonderful job, good friends, and a supportive family. A devastating blow left Susan feeling purposeless, and that led to thoughts of hopelessness. A desperate surrender to Jesus brought meaning, satisfaction, and a deep reservoir of contentment to her soul, despite life’s constant ups and downs.

Susan is passionate about encouraging others that God created them to live a life full of purpose and fulfillment. It starts with trusting the One who planted your heart’s desires and is the only one who knows how to perfectly fulfill them.

Susan is available for speaking and can be reached at Contact@FreedtoFlourish.com

What We Believe

We believe in one eternal God who co-exists as the Holy Trinity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All persons are separate, but equal, and exist as One being. (Deuteronomy 6:4, 2 Corinthians 13:14 Matthew 28:19)

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but through the sin of Adam and Eve, man is inherently sinful. (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 3:1-7 1 Corinthians 2:14)

We believe that Jesus came in human form to pay the penalty for our sins. His virgin birth, sinless life, shed blood, death on the cross, resurrection, and ascension into heaven accomplished what we couldn’t do for ourselves. (John 1:14, Philippians 2:5-6, 1 Timothy 3:16, Luke 1:35, Hebrews 1:1-4, John 11:25-26, Colossians 1:20)

We believe salvation is a free gift from God, by His grace, and is received through our faith alone. We can’t earn our salvation through works. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe the Bible is God’s complete, infallible word, written by man, inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible reveals God’s love for us and is our final authority. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Proverbs 30:5)

We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in those who put their trust in Christ alone. The Spirit empowers, convicts, and seals believers for eternity. (Romans 8:9, Acts 1:8, John 16:7-11, 2Corinthians 1:21-22)

Human beings are God’s highest creation and His greatest love. (Genesis 1:26, Romans 5:8)

We believe that all people will be resurrected and will experience either eternal life with God or eternal suffering in hell. (1 Corinthians 15:51-57)

We believe in the one true church, the bride of Christ, that consists of all those who put their trust for salvation in Christ alone. (1 Corinthians 12:12)

We believe in the second coming of Christ, to set up His kingdom for all those who believe. (Revelation 1:7)

We believe we are called to grow in favor and likeness with Jesus Christ. (Gal 2:20, 2 Tim 2:21)

We believe that men and women are created equally to complement each other, and God defined marriage as a union between a man and a woman. (Gen 2:24, 1 Cor 7:2)
